20th Anniversary
From the Director
Summer 2016
This year we celebrate the 20 year anniversary of the birth of Mary’s Place. I could not be more proud to be part of such a meaningful and necessary organization at such a pivotal time in its history. It is an honor to stand with all of you to continue the mission of Mary’s Place to give children and families a place of hope and comfort to turn to during the darkest times of their lives.
This past May we held our fourth annual Memory Walk on the Windsor Town Green. This was my first time attending a Mary’s Place event. I was surprised to see such a large group of people, given the rainy weather. The same can be said for our family picnic and butterfly release which was held in June. Despite the rain, both events were well attended by our families, friends and volunteers who gathered to remember and honor their loved ones who have passed. It was clear to me from that first day at the Memory Walk, how many people have been touched by this seemingly small grief center in Windsor. The dedication shown by all is truly a testament to Mary’s Place and the meaning it holds in the hearts of so many.
I would like to extend my sincere thanks to our devoted volunteers that facilitate our programs and assist with our events, and, of course, to you for your continued support which makes what we do here possible.
I have learned that despite the hardships and sadness in the world, there truly is healing in the most difficult of times through the support, understanding and friendship given so generously by all who enter the doors of Mary’s Place.
Warmly,
Brittany Sheehan
